1. Quotation, Deposit & Payment

Initial quotations provided by phone or email are estimates based solely on customer-supplied information.

  • Final Pricing: Final pricing will be confirmed on-site, factoring in actual item volume, access, parking, crew requirements, and all other determining conditions. LocalMovers.ie reserves the right to amend the price if the actual move differs from the description.

  • Booking Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of a minimum 10% of the total estimated cost is required at the time of booking to secure the move date.

  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full upon arrival at the collection address and before any loading of goods commences.

  • No Pay, No Load: No moving service will be carried out until all outstanding payments are received. Failure to pay the balance on arrival will result in immediate cancellation of the service and forfeiture of the deposit.

  • Methods: Drivers accept Cash or Card only. Strictly no cheques.

  • Good will: Prices do not include connecting/disconnecting, plugging/unplugging of appliances or any electrical items, due to risks, accessibility, certification requirements and other limitations, these requests are accepted or denied by the crew members on a good will basis and we do not accept any responsibility for damages or injuries to any parties involved, this is the responsibility of the client that requests it and/or the crew member that accepts to undertake it.

2. Customer Responsibilities & Access

The customer is fully responsible for providing an accurate, complete, and final list of all items to be moved.

  • Disclosure: Customers must provide clear details regarding both addresses, including:

    • Access difficulties (stairs, lifts, narrow corridors, long carries).

    • Parking or permit requirements.

    • Any other factors (pets, restricted access, timing issues).

  • Undeclared Complexity: If access is significantly more difficult than described (e.g., undeclared stairs or long walking distances due to parking issues), LocalMovers.ie reserves the right to apply additional charges.

  • Preparedness: Customers must specify if help is needed for heavy items and clarify all potential risks or site-specific complexities before the move day.

3. Strict Waiver of Liability & Responsibility

Please read carefully: By engaging LocalMovers.ie, the customer agrees to the following waiver regarding breakage and damage.

  • Waiver of Responsibility: Prior to any packing, loading, transport, or unloading, the customer acknowledges that LocalMovers.ie and its staff are not liable for any breakage, loss, or damage to items throughout any stage of the service provided, regardless of how those damages occurred.

  • Scope of Waiver: This waiver releases, discharges, and holds harmless LocalMovers.ie, its employees, and agents from any and all liability or claims for loss, damage, or injury to goods—however caused—including negligence, accident, mishandling, or inadequate packaging.

  • Customer Responsibility: Customers accept full responsibility for the security and condition of all items moved.

  • Agreement: By proceeding with the service, the customer signifies full and informed consent to this waiver. A signed acknowledgment may be required prior to the start of work; without it, no service will commence.

4. Goods in Transit (Optional Insurance)

While the Waiver above applies as standard, Customers may choose to activate specific insurance cover:

  • Home Insurance: We strongly advise you to check your existing Home Insurance Policy first, as your goods may already be covered during a move.

  • Optional Company Cover: Goods in Transit insurance is available at an additional cost (2.5% of declared value, Min cover €10,000, Excess €750). This must be set up and paid for in full in advance of the move day to supersede the standard Waiver.

5. Parking, Access & Road Charges

Suitable and legal parking is the customer’s responsibility.

  • Delays & Distance: Any fines, delays, or extra walking/handling required due to lack of parking or restricted access will be reflected in the final bill.

  • Fines: The customer is liable for any parking fines or penalties incurred by the vehicle while loading or unloading if legal parking was not provided.

  • Tolls: Road tolls (e.g., M50) are not included in the quote and will be added to the final balance.

6. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Deposit: The 33% deposit is non-refundable, except where LocalMovers.ie is solely responsible for the cancellation and cannot reschedule.

  • Notification: Cancellations must be made as soon as possible in writing or by phone.

  • Other Refunds: Any refund for payments made beyond the deposit will be offered at the sole discretion of LocalMovers.ie depending on the circumstances.
