Terms and Conditions

Introduction

LocalMovers.ie aims to provide safe, reliable moving and relocation services across Ireland. By booking with LocalMovers.ie, customers agree to the following terms and conditions, which are in place to protect our reputation and ensure a seamless moving experience.

Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer is fully responsible for providing an accurate, complete, and final list of all items to be moved—this includes clear information on sizes, weights, number of boxes, and any specialist care needed.
  • Details regarding both addresses must be provided, including:
    • Access difficulties (stairs, lifts, narrow corridors, long carries, hazards)
    • Parking or permit requirements
    • Any other factors (pets, restricted access, timing issues) that might affect the move or cost.
  • If there are undeclared or additional items, or if access is more difficult than described, LocalMovers.ie reserves the right to amend the price and/or reschedule as needed.
  • Customers must specify if help is needed for heavy items and clarify all potential risks or site-specific complexities before move day.

Quotation, Deposit & Payment

  • Initial quotations by phone or email are provided based solely on customer-supplied information. Final pricing will be confirmed on-site, factoring in actual item volume, access, parking, crew requirements, and all other determining conditions.
  • A non-refundable deposit of 33% is required at the time of booking to secure the move date.
  • The remaining balance must be paid in full immediately prior to loading of the van or truck, before any items are handled.
  • No moving service will commence without receipt of full payment. Failure to pay as required may result in cancellation, forfeiture of deposit, or rescheduling subject to availability.

Deposit & Payment Clause

A non-refundable deposit of 33% of the total moving cost is required to confirm and secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full upon arrival at the collection address and before any loading of goods into the van or truck commences. No moving service will be carried out until all outstanding payments are received. Failure to pay the balance on arrival will result in cancellation of the service and loss of the deposit

Waiver of Responsibility (Breakages & Damage)

  • Prior to any packing, loading, transport, unloading or unpacking, the customer must sign a waiver of responsibility acknowledging that LocalMovers.ie and its staff are not liable for any breakage or damage to items throughout any and all stages of the service provided, regardless of how those damages occurred.
  • This waiver extends to all goods handled or transported, including situations where items are packed by LocalMovers.ie, the customer, or any third party.
  • Customers accept full responsibility for the security and condition of all items moved, and understand that uninsured items, incorrectly packed items, pre-existing damage, or items not properly disclosed are excluded from liability.

Waiver of Liability Clause for Packing and Transport

By engaging LocalMovers.ie for any packing, loading, transportation, unloading, or unpacking services, the customer expressly acknowledges and agrees to the following waiver of liability:

The customer releases, discharges, and holds harmless LocalMovers.ie, its employees, agents, contractors, directors, and affiliates from any and all liability or claims for loss, damage, breakage, or injury to goods and property—however caused—arising from or related to the provision of packing, handling, transport, storage, delivery, unloading, or unpacking services, to the fullest extent permitted by Irish law.

This waiver applies to all items handled by LocalMovers.ie, including but not limited to items packed by LocalMovers.ie staff, the customer, or any third party. The customer acknowledges that the risks of damage or breakage to property during removal and relocation activities have been fully explained, and accepts such risks as inherent to the process.

The customer further covenants not to pursue, commence, or join any proceedings, actions, claims, or demands against LocalMovers.ie in respect of any loss or damage to property, regardless of the cause—including negligence, accident, inadequate packaging, mishandling, or any other circumstance connected to the services rendered.

By proceeding with the service, the customer signifies full and informed consent to this waiver and understands it constitutes a binding release of liability regarding all services provided by LocalMovers.ie. A signed acknowledgment of this waiver is required prior to the start of any work, and without it, no packing, transport, or moving service will commence.

Parking, Access & Delays

  • Suitable and legal parking is the customer’s responsibility; any fines, delays, or extra walking/handling required due to lack of parking or restricted access will be reflected in the final bill.
  • Additional charges will apply if actual access is significantly more difficult than originally described by the customer.

Cancellation & Refunds

  • The 33% deposit is non-refundable except where LocalMovers.ie is responsible for cancellation and cannot reschedule.
  • Cancellations must be made as soon as possible in writing or by phone.
  • Any refund for other payments (beyond deposit) will only be offered at the sole discretion of LocalMovers.ie depending on the circumstances.

Amendments

  • LocalMovers.ie reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be provided with the relevant version at the time of their booking.

By booking with LocalMovers.ie, customers acknowledge and accept these detailed responsibilities, payment requirements, and liability terms. Honest communication ensures accurate pricing and a smooth, professional moving experience for all involved
